BAF SHAHEEN COLLEGE DHAKA




History

BAF Shaheen College Dhaka was initially established on 01 Mar 1960 as Shaheen School (English Medium). Subsequently Bangla Medium was introduced from 1967 in parallel with English Medium. Shaheen High School was renamed as BAF Shaheen College Dhaka for opening Intermediate Level from academic session 1977-78. Degree pass courses were opened from academic session 1990-91. Since then BAF Shaheen College Dhaka has been functioning in the category of a Degree College. The college is being run smoothly from classes KG to Degree as per regulations of DG, Secondary & Higher Education, Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE), Dhaka and National University. BAF Shaheen College Dhaka is having co-education system. The college is renowned & well reputed for its standard of education and discipline. Existing number of students and teaching staff are about 4500 and 125 respectively. English Medium Curriculum has been introduced in one section each of the classes from KG to V from the academic session 2006 as per NCTB alongwith the existing Bangla Medium.


Admission Procedure


The admission procedure in BAF Shaheen College Dhaka are appended below:
#  First intake of students in BAF Shaheen College Dhaka is in classes KG, XI and Degree 1st year.
#  Students are admitted in classe KG on merit basis after conducting a test at the beginning of each academic year.
#  Students are admitted in classes IX and Degree 1st yr as per instructions of BISE, Dhaka and National University respectively.
#  Seats fallen vacant in any class during the academic session for any reason are generally filled up from the students kept     waiting for admission according to merit.



BAF SHAHEEN COLLEGE KURMITOLA



History

BAF Shaheen College Kurmitola was established in 1972 as ‘BAF High School’. The school was re-named as ‘BAF Shaheen School’ in 1980. Higher Secondary School Certificate course was introduced in this school from the academic session of 1982-83 and then it was named as ‘BAF Shaheen School and College’. In 1986 it was again re-named as ‘BAF Shaheen College Kurmitola’. Here students are being taught from KG to XII classes in the environment of co-education. Education, Restraint and Discipline are the motto of this College. There are fifty-five Sections from KG to XII classes in this college. English Medium Curriculum has been introduced in one section each of the classes from KG to V from the academic session 2006 as per NCTB along with the existing Bangla Medium. At present, this is one of the well known and renowned colleges of Dhaka City having 3300 students, 95 Teaching and 29 Non-Teaching staffs. BAF Shaheen College Kurmitola is being managed by Bangladesh Air Force under the rules and regulations of Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh.

Admission Procedure

In the beginning of each academic session about 200 students are admitted in 5 sections of KG class; while in other classes new students are admitted through advertisement and admission tests. It may be mentioned that in this college preference is given for the children of BAF Personnel. Admission in XI classes are done as per the rules and regulations of Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Dhaka.



BAF SHAHEEN COLLEGE JASHORE



History

BAF Shaheen College, Jashore has a long history and background of its own. Before the war of independence, there was neither any Air Base nor any educational institution at this place. After the liberation, the foundation of the then’ Satadal School’ was laid on the 26th Jan 1976. Then it had only two tinshed buildings. With the passage of time, the School assumed the Shape of BAF Shaheen School in 1979. Later in 1984, it was converted to a College and in 1986 it obtained permission for exam center.

The College has three buildings comprising a vast land covering an area of about 9.51 acre. There are 33 sections from class KG to XII in this college. From the academic session – 2006, English Mediums curriculum has been introduced in one section each of the classes from KG to V in addition to the existing Bangla Medium curriculum as per NCTB. This is one of the most reputed and renowned colleges of Jashore Area. The college received “Best College Award in the National Education Week in 2001”. The College has unique natural beauty and charm. The favorable environmental surroundings of the academic atmosphere attract the young & tender learners, teachers and people in general. It is, in real sense, a full fledged, proper and magnificent institute having reputation and distinctive features.

Admission Procedure


The admission procedure of BAF Shaheen College Jashore are appended below :


School Section :  The season of KG to X is from 1st January – 31 December of each year. Advertisements are circulated for admission in School section in the beginning of the year. The procedure of admission in school section (KG to X) is append below:

#  Date for distribution of admission form in School Section: (Preferably from the 1st week to 3rd week of January each year).
#  Date for admission test: Middle of third week of January.
#  Date for publication of result: Fourth week of January.
#  Admission: Selected students have to appear in the admission test on the schedule date.
#  Priority is given to the wards of BAF service personnel in this respect.
#  Scope for waiting list: If seats are vacant, students from waiting list may get admission according to merit list.

College Section :  The season of XI to XII is from 1st July to 30th June of each year. Advertisements are circulated for admission in College Section just after the publishing of results of the SSC exam of each year. The procedure of admission in College section (XI to XII) is appened below:

#  Date for distribution of admission form in College section (As per the instruction of the Ministry of Education/Board).
#  For admission in class XI, a merit list is prepared according to GPA and it is hung on the notice board for the information of     the students. Afterwards, they have to do the formalities of admission as per admission procedure within the scheduled time     fixed by the     board. If the enlisted students do not take admission within the scheduled time then those who are in waiting     list get preference according to merit.

Just after the completion of admission formalities classes start as usual.



BAF SHAHEEN COLLEGE CHATTOGRAM



History

BAF Shaheen College Chattogram is a glorious and traditional institute in the country. It was established in 1978 by Bangladesh Air Force as per the rules and regulations of Ministry of Education of the Government of People’s Republic of Bangladesh and Secondary Education Board Chattogram. This school was upgraded to Higher Secondary from the session 1985-86. From the year 2006 English curriculum under NCTB has been introduced as one section each of the classes from II to V along with the existing Bangla curriculum. The aim of this college is to build students as educated, honest, healthy, patriot and ideal citizens side by side with their studies. “Education-perseverance-Discipline” is the motto of this college.

There are skilled and experienced teachers in this college who take classes with proper lesson plan following the syllabus imposed by the Air Headquarters and BISE Chattogram. Besides these, there is coaching for the primary and junior scholarships and Model Tests along with the coaching classes for the SSC and HSC examinees.

Along with the academic activities, this college arranges extra-curricular activities such as, debate club (both Bangla and English), practice of cultural activities during the first period on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of every month under the guidance of skilled teachers. There is a spacious library with thousands of books and arrangement of classes on games and sports. Inter House Wall Magazines are published after every four months, which develop and prove creativity hidden in students. Shaheen the annual magazine is published every year. All these competitive and literary activities really pave the way to exhibit the genius of the students.

Admission Procedure

Admissions take place in the beginning of a year in the school section and after the result of SSC exam in college section as per the rules of the Education Board. In school section, the admission test includes Bangla, English, General Mathematics and General Knowledge whereas in college section, as per government/board rules, students are admitted according to their GPA in the SSC exam. Selected students are called for admission within the date imposed by the Education Board.


BAF SHAHEEN COLLEGE PAHARKANCHANPUR (PKP)



History

BAF Shaheen School, PKP started functioning since its estb in 1997 with 51 students in 03 classes from KG to class II. Since its inception, the school started opening one new class every year upto class VIII in 2003. Presently the school is running upto class VIII. The school has got preliminary permission from edn board Dhaka to run the education activities of classes VI to VIII. It is now a Junior Secondary School. In future, the school will be shifted to its new location and there is a plan to upgrade this school in to Residential Public School & College up to Intermediate Level. The Gazari forests beside the School campus has increased the natural beauty of the school. The surrounding natural environment is favorable for overall mental & physical development of the children.

Students are selected for admission by taking test that is usually organized within the 1st half of January every year.


BAF SHAHEEN COLLEGE BOGURA



History

Carrying the motto ‘Education-Restraint-Discipline’ BAF Shaheen College Bogura (BAF SB), the youngest member of Shaheen Education family, commenced its journey on the 01st January of 2020. Nestled in a calm and quite surroundings, BAFSB is next to a unit of Bangladesh Air Force at the outskirts of Bogura city around 1.5 km North-West from Baropur crossroads of the Bogura-Rangpur highway (2nd Bypass), Bogura Sadar, Bogura.

The college has an aesthetic infrastructure used for academic purposes including all modern facilities comprising a land covering an area of 4 acres. Established in 2020, BAF SB started its journey introducing Bangla Medium curriculum as per NCTB from KG to IX with 810 students and 17 teachers. In the same year the college opened college section. Gradually BAF SB expanded its strength and now its existing number of students and faculty members are 1616 and 30 respectively.

This traditional educational institute is working rigorously with the commitment of creating a skilled, worthy and intellectual nation. It also conducts curricular and extra-curricular activities for the betterment of the students with a view to transforming them as good citizens. Besides, the college is playing a leading role in upgrading the psycho-physical, moral and social aspects of the pupils by means of participating in games and sports, various competitions like quiz, debate, spelling bee, math and science olympiads. The students also have access to well-furnished computer labs and modern library.

School Section:

The session of KG to X is from 01 January-31 December of each year. The procedure of admission in school section (KG to X) is as follows:

  • 1.   Dated for distribution of admission form in School Section: Preferably form 1st week to 3rd week of November each year.
  • 2.   Dated for admission test: First week of December.
  • 3.   Dated for publication of result: Second week of December.
  • 4.   Process of admission test: Students desirous of getting admission in the school level have to appear in admission test. This includes a written test covering English, Maths, Bengali, General Science and General Knowledge (GK).
  • 5.   nly those who qualify are given admission according to merit and availability of seats.
  • 6.   Children of defense and non-defenses (civilians) personnel are allowed to get admission.
  • 7.   Scope for waiting list: If seats are vacant, students from waiting list may get admission according to merit list.
  • 8.   Seats fallen vacant in any class during the academic session for any reason are generally filled up from the students kept waiting for admission according to merit.

College Section:

The session of class XI & XII usually starts on 1st July and ends on the 30th June each year. Since the publication of SSC result each year, advertisements are circulated for admission in College section. The producer of admission in College section (XI to XII) is as follows:

  • 1.   Admission forms are distributed as per the instructions of the Ministry of Education/ Board.
  • 2.   Students can apply based on the GPA demanded by our college and get chance on the basis of both GPA and marks (in case of same GPA) obtained by the students.
  • 3.   Students can apply for admission through online as per the date announced by the board and complete the admission process within the scheduled time fixed by the board. After completing all admission procedure class starts on the date announced by the board.


BAF SHAHEEN ENGLISH MEDIUM SCHOOL



History

Established in 1992, BAF Shaheen English Medium School (SEMS) started its journey with six classes from KG to Std-IV, 150 students and seven teachers. Gradually SEMS has expanded its strength by adding one class each year. At present total number of student from Kg to Std-X is around 400. From the year 1998 SEMS’ students have started sitting for the O’Level exam under London University. From the very first batch the students have been displaying their excellence by achieving outstanding grades in the O’Level exam. Simultaneously the students are showing their brilliant performances in the creative field as well. As part of its expansion project a new school building is going to be inaugurated soon and the authority is going to open another section up to Std-V.

Admission Procedure

Students are enrolled into KG to STD-X at the beginning of each academic session starting in the month of June each year subject to availability of seats and candidates’ academic suitability. An admission test is held covering relevant subject areas. Suitable candidates except for KG are required to produce a valid transfer certificate and results of their last examination in the institution they last attended.
